There I was, an old inn on my way
in this little town where I had decided to stay.
Next to me, a couple of young lovers,
so into themselves they couldn’t stop kissing each other.
“Don’t worry love,
I’ll barely lose your sight
and I’ll be back with next moon’s light.
This (last) time we’ll poach
and I’ll be back to you even if Hell destroys the road.”
He was wanted;
Redcoats came claiming for his head.
Took her, tied her
and put a musket right to her breast.
So, when she heard his horse
shot the musket to her chest and used her death to warn.
But when he heard that noise
thought the worst and whipped his foal; it galloped, had no choice.
In his mad charge he was shot,
dyed the mud with his red blood; Hell all upon that road.
He was wanted;
Redcoats came claiming for his head.
Took her, tied her
and put a musket right to her breast.
